Campfire Lodge 2009

So this year, we rode the train again from Virginia City to Nevada City. Sean had the most fun of course. Then we went to the candy store and Brooke went wild getting her and grandma kicked out of the store.




And Sean takes his trains very seriously. Obviously grandpa doesn't...


And there was rain

And there was mud

Then there was sadness

Finn is One!!!!

You know what? He's just stinkin' cute. I can't believe he's one! And he just doesn't know what he's missing when he wouldn't eat his cupcake.

More Wedding

The girls had matching dresses - so cute! The kids had so much fun running around playing. It was a beautiful place with streams and horses. I'm just glad no one fell in!

Beautiful Bride

So I tried my hand at a little wedding photography this week compliments of my niece. I've decided it's hard to get "candid" shots of a group of people because inevitably, someone looks like they're half asleep or making a goofy face. I loved this picture though. She made such a gorgeous bride. And her parents are gorgeous too. A photographers dream - to have such beautiful subjects!

Summer - yay!

Finally!! It's been raining so much this summer, I was beginning to wonder if we really still lived in the desert. But it finally came. I can't help but love the heat, the 4th of July, and the smell of bar-b-q.




And I've never taken photos of fireworks. Most of them looked like blurs of white but some of them looked unique.

Goof

This is the door that goes to our garage. I think the previous owners tried a DIY cat/doggie door. So Brooke likes to look thru it to see what's going on. Because she ALWAYS needs to know what's going on...

Today Brooke was soooo moody. It was nice to see her smile by the end of the day. She's such a "girl." I'm scared for when she's a teenager if she's like this at 20 months. And no I don't curl her hair. And the curl in the middle of her forehead needed no coercing. It is Au natural... And it fits her... There was a little girl, who had a little curl, right in the middle of her forehead. And when she was good, she was very very good. And when she was bad..... OMG don't even ask....

These were hard

I decided to do some studio shots since I haven't done any for a while. Oh this was sooo hard. Brooke was in the WORST mood and Sean cooperated for only so long. Brooke climbed up on one of my lights and broke my umbrella so my birthday is coming up.... hint hint.

Bridal Shower

We went to a bridal shower on Saturday for Chad's niece who's getting married next month and I couldn't resist taking Brooke. Then I ended up chasing her everywhere. She's busy. But I loved this dress and she's almost grown out of it, darn it.

Family Pics - sort of

All right. I'm not going to lie. I have a LOT to learn about photography. And I don't have a lot of practice with group shots. Chad wanted a family photo in the mountains on Father's Day. It ended up being mosquito infested and muddy. And I was too far out of range for me to use my remote. But I got one of me in it.... just not exactly was I was thinking. And because I just wanted to run away from the mosquitoes, I just took some fast of the rest of them. They were troopers. And these were taken BEFORE I slipped in the mud while carrying Brooke back down. But don't worry. My feet got a great mud bath and Brooke just looked at me like I was a dum dum.

She's A Foodie!

Thought I'd try a hamburger with Brooke. She liked the bun. And she is definitely a fry girl like her mom.





And B likes to get into the cupboards when unattended. This time I was in the bedroom but I thought all the noise was Chad. Turns out she really wanted some Capn Crunch. And as you can see also, she has a thing for Top Ramen packages. I found a trail of them throughout the house.
